What is the Moray Community Planning Partnership (MCPP)?

The Moray Community Planning Partnership (MCPP) was formed in 1999 to take forward Community Planning within Moray. It began with 7 original members drawn from the key local public and voluntary sector agencies - membership has since increased to 13.

The initial task of the Partnership was to compile the first  Moray Community Plan, which was launched in March 2001. A new Community Plan was published in September 2006. This covers the period 2006-10 and sets out the strategic priorities to be addressed by the Partnership over the next five years.

The Partnership is managed by a Steering Group, comprising chief officials of each partner organisation - it meets quarterly.

Much of the work of the Partnership has been devolved to 7 Theme Groups to address different themes within the Plan.

A number of Task Groups have been set up to address particular aspects of the Partnership's work, including datasharing, equalities issues and communication.

Recently 8 Area Forums have been set up to engage local people more effectively in the work of the Partnership. 8 Youth Forums are also being established.

The Partnership employs the services of a Community Planning Officer to assist it in meeting its objectives.
