Quarterly Update

North East Safety Camera Partnership

Purpose

	To reduce the number of killed and seriously injured on North East roads.
	To reduce the number of personal injury on North East roads.
	To reduce the overall average speed of vehicles using targeted routes in the North East area.
	To meet the Government's 2010 targets for casualty reduction in key areas.
	To harness public opinion to ensure the overall view that a cost recovery scheme is for casualty reduction and not for income generation.
	To meet the Government's rules on conspicuity and visibility in respect of cameras and signage.
