What's New?

New Office Bearers Elected
The Forum held its AGM in February at Forres House.  This was well attended.  Councillor Hamilton conducted the election process and the Forum now has four office bearers.  The new Chair is Carin Schwartz.  This is a very positive move and the Forum looks forward to making significant progress in the coming months.

Street Football
Street Football continues to be delivered in the area with financial support from the Forum.  The Forum has highlighted the need for it to be delivered in other areas such as Mannachie or Grant Park.  This information has been relayed to Roy McPherson, Street Football Co-ordinator to guide future provision.

New Findhorn Association
Representatives from the New Findhorn Association attended the January Forum meeting.  They explained the membership and role of the Association to Forum members, along with information on forthcoming events.

The Youth Forum brings together young people aged 12-25 to discuss common concerns and ways of improving the quality of life in their area

What's New?

Pilmuir Community House Youth Arts Project
Two projects based at the house and at the Moray Arts Centre have recently been completed.  Over the last six weeks a group of young people has made 3D heads which are now displayed around the house.  Another group led by Lee Ann Cardle, Arts Development Worker, has prepared digital images for display in the house.
BMX Track
After initial talks and communication with Housing Dept the area of land adjacent to Thornhill is in the process of an inquiry as to whether it is suitable for housing development.  At the present time no further action can be made to develop part of this land as a proposed BMX track for young people from the Pilmuir and Thornhill area.  The outcome to the inquiry will be known in May - the Community Warden and CLD YOuth Team will follow up this project idea at that time..
Mountain Bike Trail
Funding bids by the Community Woodlands Trust and the Forres Free-riders youth group are being prepared to various trusts and the Awards for All Lottery Funding.
