The Transportation Group
A member of the forum came forward to discuss public transport in rural areas -
specifically the costs of getting into Elgin from Hopeman. The possibilities of
a coastal service was also raised. The first meeting has been held between
members of the forum and the transport company which was a very productive
meeting looking at the possibilities of introducing a new zone for the megarider+
weekly saver. The coastal service was also discussed and research is currently
being carried out to see if this service would be supported. The next meeting is
due to be in September - date to be confirmed.
Burghead Chemical Works and Look After Lossie
(anti-litter initiative)
An ongoing issue was raised through the forum as to the possibile
clean-up for a contaminated site in Burghead. There has been two meetings so
far. The first meeting was looking at the issues involved and how the forum
would like to progress any initiatives surrounding the two issues. The second
meeting looked more at the specifics of Burghead Chemical Works and what would
be involved in any project work. The date of the next meeting is to be
confirmed.
