Neighbourhood News Keeps Residents Informed

Keeping local people in touch with the latest happenings and developments in their area is crucial to the success of Community Planning in Moray.

The first edition of 'Neighbourhood News', a newsletter compiled by members of Elgin North and South Area Forums was distributed to 10,000 households in the Elgin area during September.  It was also made available via download from www.yourmoray.org.uk and emailed out in electronic format to community organisations.

In addition to updates on issues being progressed by the Forums, the newsletter also promotes adult learning opportunities in the local area and provides information about community groups' meeting times and contact details.

The editorial team published the pilot newsletter in a bid to promote the work of the Forums.  It is also hoped to encourage and engage more residents and community groups to get involved with their Area Forums and take part in decisions about local services affecting them.
