What's New?
 | Dufftown Youth Drop In
Dufftown Community Association has been concerned that young people are
'camping out' in the bus shelter in the square each evening. A group
of girls attended the Association meeting with the CD Workers and it was
agreed after discussion to look for potential venues, where young people
could meet. It was later suggested that a possible location was a
local hotel, which had previously allowed young people to use the lounge bar
as a non-alcoholic venue. The 'Drop In' started in December and meets
on Monday and Wednesday evenings for 14+ years, staffed by a local youth
worker. The young people now have a warm and secure place to meet.. |
 | Dance, Film Making and Music
An 8 week project giving young people the opportunity to learn skills in
these areas and produce a DVD has started in Rothes for young people of High
School age. The project is a joint initiative between the Community
Development Youthwork Team and the Arts Development Worker and meets each
Wednesday.. |
 | Tomintoul Youth Club Burns Supper
This has now become an annual village event and was organised by youth
workers and young people from the Club on February 2nd at the Village
Hall. Members of the club chaired the event and made all the speeches
celebrating Rabbie Burns. A presentation was also made to the young
people who had contributed to the club the most over the past year.
