Purpose
To implement the provisions of the Antisocial Behaviour etc (Scotland) Act 2004.

Introduction
Funding has been secured from the Scottish Executive as part of a two-year initiative to support the appointment of five Community Wardens in Moray.

The role of the wardens is to act as additional 'eyes and ears' in the community assisting in crime prevention and reducing fear of crime.  They also have powers to take rapid action on vandalism, graffiti, litter and dog fouling.  A further aspect of the role concerns their involvement with community and youth groups to build constructive dialogue and assist in improving the quality of life in their area.
