What is an Area Forum?

An Area Forum provides a platform for local people and community organisations to come together to influence the planning and delivery of services in their area and across Moray.

What does it do?

Helps to identify key issues to be addressed in each local area and included within the Moray Community Plan
Brings together the key community organisations and local residents in its locality to work in partnership and establish the key issues and concerns of local people
Contributes to the production of an Area Action Plan in partnership with Local Workers' Groups and Youth Participation structures in the locality setting out how the key issues identified by the community and the Partnership for the area will be addressed
Invites existing community groups, or newly-formed Action Groups, to address particular actions within the Area Action Plan
Provides a means and reference point for consultation by Community Planning partners
Contributes to the long-term vision for Moray

Where are they?

There are 8 Area Forum areas based around the secondary school catchments.  They are:

Buckie
Elgin North
Elgin South
Forres
Keith
Laich
Milnes
Speyside

The names of the Area Forum areas can only be altered with the approval of the Moray Community Planning Partnership.
